All of our Engineering Managers give at least one tech talk per year. Any team member, at any experience level, is welcome to lead a session, too. On average, we run two tech talks per month which are offered via Google Meets. All sessions are recorded. The presentation slides, notes, and the recorded seminar are posted internally so everyone can benefit regardless of their schedule.

At First Factory, we want to support your career development in the softwrae industry and witness your growth. Each employee is given an annual stipend that can be spent on any educational learning of your choice. There is no approval required. This includes certifications, Udemy courses, Coursera subscriptions, external event tickets (example: Geekle Summits), Pluralsight monthly subscriptions, English training courses, university tuition, and more.

Communication Classes
First Factory has a long partnership with Idioma Internacional. They offer solutions and specialized support with their interactive Personalized English Workshops and communication study plans. In addition to basic and advanced English courses, we have co-created a three module Master Class on preparing for client interviews that can be taken live or asynchronously. The three modules cover, at a high level, The Art of Asking & Answering Questions, Active Listening & Effective Communication, and Working with Communication Styles. This mini-course is everything you need to share your experience clearly, concisely, and with confidence.

Efecto Boomerang is our preferred partner for seminars and training on diversity and inclusion in the workplace. They also offer workshops on stress management and optimizing personal performance.
LMS
with Learning Tracks
First Factory has and internal intranet and offers custom sourses through Google Classroom. We have robust curated content for continued learning, including foundational Academy Courses that cover programming basics, Object-Oriented Programming, databases, and technologies and frameworks such as JavaScript, TypeScript, NestJS, NodeJS, React, MySQL, and TypeORM. Other Academy curricula cover Java and DevOps. As technologies evolve, we continually add content to these courses that we run both live and asynchronously. In addition, we have learning tracks for discrete topics, such as Mobile Testing with BrowserStack and full certification preparation curricula for ISTBQ certification, composed of lessons, notes, and quizzes.

Our team takes a supportive approach to helping you craft your career development plan for the next six to twelve months, recommending training opportunities, professional practices, and other educational tools. We feel that if we can help you identify technologies that you are passionate about and blend that with what you are proficient in then you have a career path that will keep you motivated and satisfied, even if your interests change.
