International Trade
Costa Rica has a strong history of democratic stability with free and fair elections. As a trade partner, Costa Rica is very open to international investments and gradual trade liberation. As a result, the country has experienced decades of steady economic growth. It has developed into a regional center of excellence for software development.
Costa Rica, like the United States (its largest trading partner), belongs to the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the World Trade Organization. It is a safe country with modern technical infrastructure and fiscal security. It has been lauded as a shining example of eco-stewardship. More than 25% of its territory preserved. This protects and ensures vibrant biodiversity and is a key reason why Costa Rica is a major tourist destination. Major International companies like Amazon, Coca-Cola, and HP have footprints here.

STEM Education
Costa Rica is a country rich in educational resources. After disbanding their military in 1948 (source), the country’s leaders redirected funds toward education. Education is free and mandatory in Costa Rica, with a significant portion of curriculum in both public and private schools being taught in Spanish and English. Private Higher Education institutions are very popular, with almost 50% of university students choosing private schools for the international programs and accelerated courses. Several local colleges and universities in the central valley of Costa Rica provide an excellent education in computer science and engineering, and the overwhelming majority of those graduates are fluent in English. Engineering and other areas of technical training continue to be seen as those with the greatest job demand in Costa Rica. Computer Engineering followed by Industrial Engineering are careers with the greatest female participation, too.

An Amazing Place
For Clients to Visit
Boasting a strong eco-tourism industry, more than 1.3 million U.S. citizens alone visit Costa Rica annually. Americans represent nearly 65% of all tourists. With pristine shorelines and world class surfing, Costa Rica is a beach lover's paradise. Sport fishing is a major attraction. Anglers can enjoy fishing off of both coasts: the Pacific to the West and the Caribbean to the East. Rainforests, volcanoes, hot springs, white water rafting, and countless outdoor adventures lure tourists back time and again.
At roughly the same size as West Virginia, or three times larger than New Jersey, Costa Rica is easy to explore. There is no excuse for not visiting a coffee farm or waterfall on your next visit to the First Factory offices. We’d love to show you around.
