We had the goal of making First Factory a carbon neutral service provider. Through our engagement with Green Project, we received t a full-year Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory for our internal operations. The choices we made already gave us a light footprint. With the quantified impact, we were able to take further action and become 100% carbon neutral in under a year

Key Priorities:

Refine a streamlined, scalable data acquisition strategy to gather relevant underlying company activity, energy, and expenditure data points in support of ongoing, annual corporate GHG inventories
2
Access a wide array of climate performance analytics and reporting tools, including benchmarking, target-setting, and facility insight
3
Create ongoing sustainability leadership efforts via robust data collection, allowing for engagement with leading ESG initiatives and target-setting

About Green Project


Green Project publishes comprehensive benchmarks annually that analyze its ESG Data Convergence Initiative-reporting client base. Based on their exposure to activities that generate elevated emissions, the companies fall into two distinct groups: low-impact and high-impact. Green Project was brought to our attention from one of our clients, S&P Global. Staying a Carbon Neutral Service Provider

One of the most significant contributors to our green story has been our choice of Costa Rica, a home base of operations for nearly twenty years. The country generates a significant portion of its electricity from renewable energy sources. Roughly 99% of its electrical energy output comes from renewables like hydropower (the primary source), as well as geothermal, wind, and solar power. We are committed to staying green and 100% carbon neutral. We have moved hosting and infrastructure to cloud providers and donate or upcycle equipment. Our employees enjoy a remote-first work environment. Moving to a smaller office in 2025 further reduces our footprint.
